In recent years, developments with synthetic fibers such as KEVLAR - SPECTRA-
VECTRAN - DYNEEMA and selected others have lead to the development and
production of Hi-Performance - Hi-Tech ropes.  Today, these synthetic fibers are
used by leading rope manufacturers for the possible replacement of conventional
steel wire rope because of the weight to strength ratio.  High performance ropes
are used in marine, oilfield, offshore, shipping, mooring, construction, and
aerospace applications.

Gator Supply Company, a major distributor for Hi-Performance ropes can assist
you with our sales personnel and factory personnel for choosing the right type of
rope and materials for your application.

Remember, your Hi-Performance ropes i.e. SPECTRA, KEVLAR, etc. are not
stock items.  Generally, the manufacturers have a lead time for production and
shipping of 7-21 days after receipt of orders.  These estimates for production
and shipping are determined by customer requirements - type of material
needed for the application, diameter and length of material, factory schedules
and factory work schedules.  Please provide as much information to your sales
representative on the initial inquiry on any Hi-Performance rope to ensure
expedient deliveries.

KEVLAR - A synthetic fiber primarily used in ropes for high heat resistance, low
elasticity and high strength.

SPECTRA - A synthetic fiber which is one of the worlds strongest yarns.  It
provides very high strength to its weight ratio, low moisture absorption, and has
excellent abrasion resistance.

VECTRAN - A synthetic fiber primarily used in ropes for high strength and low
elasticity.  Good abrasion resistance, high resistance to heat, highest strength
to weight ratio of any fiber.

DYNEEMA - A synthetic fiber providing high abrasion resistance, very low
elongation, excellent flex fatigue resistance and low resistance to heat.

HMWPE - High molecular weight polyethylene fibers.

UHMWPE - Ultra high molecular weight polyetheylene fibers.
